The Agni Veiga Series Intelligent Addressable Network Communication Card (FAP-3002) is engineered to enable seamless,secure, and long-distance communication between multiple fire alarm control panels and repeaters. Built on the RS485 differential communication standards, the card supports multi-node networking with excellent resistance to electrical noise, making it ideal for harsh industrial and commercial environments. 

This communication card allows up to 16 nodes on a singe bus and supports communication distances of up to 1200 meters, depending on speed and cable conditions. The RS485 topology is best suited for bus, ring, or daisy-chain layouts, helping avoid signal reflection issues associated with star wiring. 

Designed for easy integration, the Comms PCD plugs directly into the control panel’s main motherboard and includes a socket for reconnecting the display board ribbon cable. Network configuration is managed using onboard DIL switches, allowing panels to operate either in standalone mode or network / repeater mode. 

With low power consumption, programmable outputs, fault-tolerant wiring support, and compatibility with legacy radial circuits, the Agni Veiga Network Communications Card is a cost-effective and scalable solution for expanding intelligent fire alarm systems.

How does the Agni Veiga Network Communications Card Work?

1. Install the Card

The Network Communications Card is plugged into the control panel’s main circuit board, and the display ribbon cable is reconnected through the card.

2. Set Network Mode

A DIL switch on the panel is set to enable network or repeater mode so the panel recognizes the communication card.

3. Connect RS485 Wiring

Panels are linked using a two-core RS485 cable through Comms A and Comms B terminals.

4. Establish Panel Network

Multiple control and repeater panels are connected on the same communication bus or fault-tolerant loop.

5. Transmit System Data

Alarms, faults, and system status are exchanged between panels using noise-resistant RS485 communication.
