Product Overview

One Addressable Multi Sensor. Two Detection Methods

The Agni Veiga Series Addressable Photothermal (Multi) Detector is a multi-criteria point detection device that combines an optical chamber and a thermal element with an onboard microprocessor running sophisticated algorithms to provide quick and accurate detection of fires. As an intelligent analogue photothermal detector, it doesn't react to one signal in isolation — the microprocessor weighs smoke and heat data together, so the combination of photoelectric and thermal characteristics delivers a faster response to real fire situations while at the same time reducing the risk of unwanted, environmentally generated alarms.

This addressable multi criteria photothermal detector represents advanced fire detection technology for mission-critical commercial and institutional environments. Engineered for precision and reliability, it provides comprehensive fire event monitoring across diverse application scenarios — from clean office spaces to electrically dense equipment rooms. Built with a Dust Restrictor Chamber (DRC), the detector resists contamination from airborne dust and particulates over years of service, and its low-profile housing with 360° status LEDs stays unobtrusive while remaining instantly readable during any walk-through or fault check.

Like all Agni addressable detectors, the Veiga IND-OH communicates over Agni's fully digital intelligent protocol — 2 km working on 1.2 SWG wire gauge — and supports auto-addressing on compatible fire alarm control panels. Reduced commissioning time for large addressable loops.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Analog Photothermal Detector?

An Analog Photothermal Detector is a multi-criteria fire detection device that combines photoelectric smoke sensing with thermal detection to identify fire conditions early while reducing false alarms.

How does the Agni Analog Photothermal Detector work?

The detector continuously monitors airborne smoke and temperature changes. Intelligent algorithms analyze data from both sensing elements to confirm genuine fire conditions before triggering an alarm.

What Does the Agni Analog Photothermal Detector Detect?

The detector identifies:

  • Smoke using photoelectric sensing
  • Heat using fixing temperature and rate-of-rise detection

By combining these two detection methods, it responds accurately to both slow-smoldering and fast-developing fires.

What Happens When a Fire Is Detected?

When a real fire condition is confirmed:

  • The detector enters alarm mode
  • High-visibility LEDs provide 360-degree visual indication
  • A digital alarm signal is sent to the fire alarm control panel
  • The exact detector location is identified instantly

This allows faster response and safe evacuation.
