Agni Veiga Series Intelligent Addressable Control Module

An intelligent addressable control module assigned acts as a smart intermediary for third-party systems actions for other buildings relevant, like shutting off HVAC, recalling elevators, or activating horns/strobes, and vice versa, integrating diverse devices into an addressable system for enhanced safety and coordinated response during a fire.

Description

The Agni Veiga Series Intelligent Addressable Control Module (i VEIGA-IND-VMIC-120) is a high-performance addressable interface module developed for intelligent fire detection and alarm systems. It enables seamless monitoring and control of external devices while ensuring system integrity and rapid response.
Using Agni’s fully digital communication protocol, this module supports reliable operation across installations ranging from small systems to large, complex networks with up to 240 devices per loop. The VMIC-120 provides the capability to remotely monitor a single circuit and control one ancillary circuit through dry contact relay contacts.

The monitored input circuit continuously supervises for fault and alarm conditions, improving system safety and operational confidence. Integrated short-circuit isolators protect the loop and help maintain system operation during fault conditions.
Designed for practical installation, the module fits into a single-gang extra external back box and supports both surface and flush mounting. red-colour LED indicators provide clear, local visual status of input and output circuits, simplifying inspection and maintenance.

This intelligent control module is ideal for applications requiring dependable interfacing between fire alarm panels and external equipment such as alarms, control systems, and ancillary fire safety devices.

Job to be Done

Primary Job

Control or relay modules are used to activate or deactivate external equipment based on programmed cause-and-effect logic from the fire alarm control panel.

Safety Job

Ensure automatic, accurate control of life-safety systems during fire events to protect occupants, property, and system integrity.

Functional Jobs

Monitor one input circuit and control one external device through a volt-free relay using addressable communication from the fire alarm control panel.

How it Works

How does the Agni Veiga Sounder / Horn Cum Strobbe Work?

The Agni Veiga Series Intelligent Addressable Control Module works as a smart interface between the fire alarm control panel (FACP) and external field devices. It allows the system to control one ancillary output circuit within an intelligent addressable fire alarm loop.

How does the Agni Veiga Intelligent Addressable Control Module Work?

1. External Device Management

Upon receiving the command, the control module activates its internal relay or provides a 24V DC power output (depending on module type) to operate auxiliary equipment. This can include Agni’s fully digital protocol.

2. Output Activation (Control Function)

If the FACP determines an action is required (based on pre-programmed "cause-and-effect" logic), it sends a command signal to the control module's specific address. VMIC-120 module on the loop.

3. System Control Function Reset:

After the emergency is resolved and the FACP is reset by authorized personnel, the control module returns the connected devices to their normal, monitored state.

4. Logical Evaluation

The FACP's internal processor uses its custom-programmed "cause-and-effect" logic to determine the appropriate response. This logic dictates what output actions

5. System Protection & Indication

Integrated short-circuit isolators protect the loop during wiring faults. red-colour LEDs provide clear local indication of module status for quick troubleshooting.

FAQ

What does an Intelligent Addressable Control Module do in a fire alarm system?

It allows the fire alarm panel logic control devices such as fire doors, lifts, HVAC systems, and suppression equipment.

An Intelligent Control Module is an addressable fire alarm interface that allows the fire alarm control panel to control circuit and control external devices such as alarms, relays, or ancillary fire safety equipment.

Yes, the Intelligent Control Module is loop powered and operates with very low current consumption, eliminating the need for an external power supply.

The intelligent addressable system is programmed with logic commands such that, in the event of a fire condition, the relay control function is activated as per the programmed logic. During a fault condition, no change occurs in the relay operation. When the system is restarted or reset, the smoke detection system returns to normal operating mode.

The module mounts on a standard faceplate and fits into a single-gang extra back box. It supports both surface and flush mounting installations.
