Agni Veiga Handheld Programming Unit – ALPU1000
The Agni Veiga Handheld Programming Unit is a portable, battery-powered device designed to read, configure, and program parameters of Agni Veiga analogue addressable devices. Programming and diagnostic unit for Agni Veiga analogue addressable devices. Enables address setting, parameter configuration, firmware reading, and device diagnostics using an in-built keypad and display.
Description
The Agni Veiga Handheld Programming Unit (ALPU1000) is a dedicated field programming tool designed for configuring and maintaining Agni Veiga analogue addressable fire alarm devices. It allows installers to easily set, modify, and read device parameters directly in the field without requiring a control panel connection.
Equipped with an Agni detector adapter base for direct programming of detector devices and includes two interface plug-in cables for compatibility with other Agni Veiga devices. Using its integrated keypad and LCD display, users can navigate through a structured menu system to perform programming and diagnostic tasks efficiently.
The programming unit supports key operations such as assigning or read and write analogue addresses, configuring thermal sensor modes, enabling and disabling module inputs and outputs, programming conventional zone modules, and setting operating modes for sounder bases. Device information including firmware version, production date, test date, standard analogue values, and customer security code can also be viewed.
Powered by a 9V (6LR61) battery, the unit is lightweight, portable, and suitable for indoor and outdoor commissioning environments. It automatically switches off after inactivity, helping conserve battery life while ensuring reliable field operation.
Job to be Done

How does the Veiga Series Handheld Programmer Operates?
1. Power the Programming Unit
Insert the supplied 9V (6LR61) battery into the programming unit. The battery powers all programming and diagnostic functions.
2. Connect the Device
Connect only one device at a time: Detectors: Mount the detector directly onto the built-in adaptor base, Tone sounder bases: Connect using the supplied jack-to-jack cable, Other analogue devices: Use the jack-to-terminal block cable, ensuring correct polarity
3. Activate the Unit
Press the READ key once. The display shows the firmware version, then opens the address menu automatically.
4. Read or Set the Device Address
The current analogue address appears on the screen. Use the UP and DOWN keys to change it. Press WRITE to store the new address.
5. Access the Main Menu
Press and hold the READ key to enter the main menu. Here, the unit identifies the connected device and displays available parameters such as device type, firmware version, production date, and standard analogue values.
6. Program Device Parameters
Depending on the connected device, the programming unit allows you to: Configure thermal detector modes , Enable or disable input/output channels , Set operating modes for modules or sounder bases , Program conventional zone monitor modules
